For its start of the year Anvil Exchange Forum, the Anvil Business Club
visited GMA 7 network station and held an open forum with its Chairman
and CEO Atty. Felipe Gozon.
Led by its president, Wilson Lee Flores, the Anvil Business Club
officers and members had a tour of the tv station located at EDSA
corner Timog Ave in Quezon City last January 24. The tour was guided by
Mr. Rod Cornejo of GMA 7. The group was exposed to the inner workings
for a tv station and went through the studios including a taping of Mel
& Jay as well as visited the sets of Unang Hirit and 24 Oras. Some
of the members even had the chance to sit in front of a camera and see
themselves as they would be on tv.
After the tour, the group had a open forum with Atty. Felipe Gozon at
the Skyline Restaurant at the 17th floor of the GMA 7 Bldg. Atty. Gozon
gave a short introduction about GMA 7 and how he was able to turn
around the company from being a far second network station to the number
one in the country. Not only were they able to top all the ratings,
both primetime tv and non-primetime, but the company was also able to
generate profits exceeding that of their competition. After the
introductory message, the floor was opened to the members for questions
and answers. The forum ended with the customary picture taking of the
speaker with the Club officers.
The very successful first Anvil Exchange Forum for 2005 was attended by
no less than 50 people including past chairmans and presidents of the
Club.
